Today many Christians seem to concentrate on how we “do” church. This idea often shows itself in the area of worship where any idea of sincerity and beauty is often replaced by an attitude that concentrates on “performance” and “style”.

This is just one factor that is characteristic of churches that are embracing the “Purpose-Driven” model. What is this model and what are the warning signs that your church may be leaning in that direction? Some of them include:

–A change in music to a contemporary rock style.
–Repetitive singing of praise lyrics.
–Dressing down to casual attire.
–Crosses and other Christian symbols may be removed from both inside and outside the building.
–An emphasis on fun and more party sessions for youth.
–Reclassification of the saved and the lost to the “churched” and the “unchurched”.

Is church something we do or is it what we are? Learn what the difference is on this important Crosstalk broadcast.
