In the early 1970’s, America endured Watergate, a scandal that involved a break-in at the Democratic National Headquarters during the Richard Nixon administration. Right now America and the Obama administration are enduring what’s being referred to as Benghazigate, the controversy over what appeared to be a skillfully prepared attack on an American diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. Unlike Watergate, which seemingly was in the news every day and where no one died; in Benghazigate there have been deaths. In addition, the major media is strangely silent on this issue and this reaction makes them appear to be running interference for President Obama.

Benghazigate involves the State Department, the C.I.A. and the Department of Defense. This means that Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta and David Petraeus are involved. In fact, Patraeus will be in front of a couple of Senate and House committees tomorrow in closed session.

According to Ben, back in October, Petraeus said that no one told the Navy Seals (Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty) to “stand down”. He went on to note that there are now reports that they were told to “stand down” and that it’s now being said that Woods and Doherty were C.I.A. so they would have reported up the chain to Petraeus. However, if that’s the case, then why were the members of the consulate where Ambassador Stevens was located requesting security from the State Department? The State Department was watching the attack unfold in “real time” so he believes that any attack by anyone inside or outside of the State Department to point to this as a C.I.A. issue rings hollow.

Complicating matters is the latest news regarding Petraeus. Did he get, as Ben reported, “cold feet” about towing the Obama administration’s line in testimony and that the administration knew about the Petraeus extramarital affair for some time and held it until there was an opportunity to use it?
