Ken Ham is the President, CEO and Founder of Answers in Genesis and the highly acclaimed Creation Museum. Ken is the author of many books on Genesis including the eye opening ‘Already Gone’ on why so many young people have left the church and ‘Already Compromised’ that looks at Christian colleges and how they treat the authority of the Bible. Ken joined Vic to discuss his latest book ‘Six Days: The Age of the Earth and the Decline of the Church.’

Why do so many Christians people and even leaders resist the idea of a six-day creation? It isn’t because of what the Bible says, it’s because they want to force man’s ideas into the Bible and reinterpret it which is an undermining of biblical authority. This is rather unusual when you consider that, as Ken noted,
the Hebrew word for ‘day’ is used over 2,300 times in the Old Testament yet no one questions what it means everywhere else outside of Genesis 1.

Ken looks at this decline problem from a number of angles. For example, one of the chapters in his book is titled, ‘What is Science?’ Science simply means ‘knowledge’. There’s operational/observational science that both Christians and non-Christians have and historical science which is knowledge about the past. The problem is, the secular world mixes historical science with technology and calls this amalgamation ‘science’. This has caused many to think that if they give up their millions-of-years assumption they’re giving up science.
