Kids Talk is especially for boys and girls 12 years of age and younger.
In November, 1986, Uncle Jim and Aunt Faith began announcing that a Birthday Club was beginning for boys and girls in January, 1987. Boys and girls began to call and register to be in the Club. Then on January 3, 1987, the very first program of Kids Talk was heard on just two radio stations--WVCY-FM in Milwaukee, WI, and WVCX-FM in Tomah, WI. Today, Kids Talk is also heard on a number of stations affiliated with VCY America including stations in Wisconsin, Michigan, South Dakota, Kansas, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, and Pennsylvania, plus the Internet.
When Kids Talk first started, there were only a few birthdays announced each week, so Uncle Jim and Aunt Faith took time to give all the cities where the boys and girls lived, as well as the age they would be. As more and more children found out about the Club and joined, it was taking too long to get through all the information, so now just the names are announced.
An average of 70 birthdays are announced each week for children in our radio listening areas.
It has been the desire of Uncle Jim and Aunt Faith and VCY America to share the Word of God with boys and girls. This is why a children's tract is sent out with every birthday gift, and God's Word is shared on the radio program. It is a joy to hear of boys and girls receiving Jesus as their Savior.
