Carl Moeller is the President & CEO of Open Doors USA. Open Doors works in the world’s most oppressive countries, strengthening Christians to stand strong in the face of persecution and equipping them to shine Christ’s light in these dark places. Open Doors empowers persecuted Christians by supplying Bibles, training Christian leaders, developing Christian communities and ensuring prayer, presence and advocacy for these suffering believers.

Open Doors has just released their 2012 World Watch List highlighting the 50 countries were Christian persecution is prevalent.

–North Korea continues to top the persecution list due in part to its pseudo-religious devotion to its leaders. Carl estimated that there are as many as 70,000 people being punished in labor camps for their Christian faith.

–Iran has moved down the list but this drop is only due to other nations that have worsened.

–Afghanistan has destroyed the last visible Christian church within its borders.

–Nigeria has moved up ten spots due to extreme Islamic violence.

–Egypt is worsening due to elections that have made room for the Muslim Brotherhood to begin taking power.

Carl goes on to reveal more nations and more persecution proving why, as never before, all Christians need to pray for their suffering brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world.
