Last Thursday, with the aid of 3 Republicans, a Senate committee passed the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities treaty, moving it one step closer to making it the law of the land.

As reported two weeks ago on Crosstalk, the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities treaty would set up a committee of judges and U.N. experts to monitor U.S. compliance to global standards allegedly set up to protect the best interests of the disabled, including children.

Jim noted on today’s program that this treaty would also allow for greater abortion access in Article 25. In short, this treaty would force Americans to sanction sterilization or abortion for the disabled at taxpayer expense. The treaty could be ratified as early as this week.

Other stories Jim brought to listener attention included:

that would end the current legal policy allowing abortion for any reason
until the moment of birth in the nation’s capital.

Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate.
--House Speaker John Boehner indicated that the House may go ahead and

contraception and more.
--Chick-fil-A restaurant C.E.O. continues to be criticized for his biblical
stance on traditional marriage.
--Swedish 8th grade student fails biology class for stating that
homosexuality is abnormal.
--San Francisco public library installs plastic privacy screens so that porn
can be viewed more discreetly on its computers.
--U.N. Commission calls for the legalization of prostitution worldwide.
