Scott Brown is the Director for the National Center for Family Integrated Churches and is an Elder at Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He gives most of his time to local pastor ministry, conferences on fatherhood, church reformation and strengthening the family. He is a father and grandfather and is the author of several books including, 'Preparing Boys for Battle', 'Building a God Centered Family', and 'A Weed in the Church'.

In the Bible we see that God brings all ages together. In light of that, Scott believes we need to give the rising generation the Word of God and do it in a way that doesn't dumb down the message so that we end up with a dumbed down generation.

Scott noted the gatherings of the people of God of all ages in the Bible. You find children hearing the reading of the Word, you find that God puts young people in meetings of the church where they hear preaching and there's singing and participating in the fundamental means of grace that God gave to the church. So the church doesn't give you youth, it gives you a whole compliment of relationships that matures young people and balances them out. In essence, Scott believes the current separation of generations in the churches today is foreign to the Bible.

These are the kinds of issues looked at in the book, 'A Weed in the Church'. The book does an exegetical and historical analysis of the discipleship of youth from Scripture alone as well as answering questions regarding singles, children with no fathers and other questions that Scott's been asked over the last decade and a half.

Learn how you can reach kids for the Kingdom and do it without compromising or trivializing God's Word when you review this edition of Crosstalk.
