Host: Vic Eliason
Guest: Peter LaBarbera
Peter LaBarbera is the Founder and President of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality.
Vic began this edition of Crosstalk with 2 items. The first involved news that Liberty University has hired an open homosexual advocate (Geoffrey Goldberg) to produce its upcoming Broadway-style Mary Poppins program.
Secondly, on his television program, controversial evangelist Benny Hinn announced that he has a Bible course and that if you contract with Liberty University for their course then he will ordain you to become a minister under his auspices.
Regarding the main topic: Does the price of citizenship now include having to give up your religious liberties? That’s apparently the case as the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal of 2 Christian photographers, Jonathan and Elaine Huguenin, from New Mexico. They politely refused to take pictures for a lesbian commitment ceremony for reasons of faith. The lesbians sued and used the New Mexico sexual orientation law to get their way. Since the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal, the New Mexico decision stands.
Other stories that Vic had Peter comment on included:
–Mozilla’s CEO, Brendan Eich, was forced to step down under pressure because it was discovered he gave $1,000 to a pro-family agency 8 years ago.
–Illinois proposes to ban pro-heterosexual change therapy.
–Saskatchewan Pro-Life Association has asked Peter to speak but a group of liberal minded individuals decided that because of Peter’s work against the homosexual agenda they have targeted the Saskatchewan Pro-Life Association to get Peter disinvited as a speaker. Now they’re writing a government official to have Peter turned around when his plane lands.
–Peter’s use of the phrases: ‘Homo-Marxist’ agenda or “Homo-Fascist” agenda.
–The Office of Personnel Management has developed new diversity and inclusion reference materials regarding the employment of transgender individuals in the federal workplace.
–On April 14th, Ohio is set to recognize out of state marriages.
–South Dakota may join the other 28 states with marriage equality cases. 2 women will marry in Minnesota at the end of April. When they return to South Dakota they plan to use their Minnesota marriage credentials to apply for a name change. If denied, they plan to file a legal challenge against South Dakota’s ban on recognized, out-of-state marriages between same-sex couples.
