Peter LaBarbara is the Founder and President of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality

Before starting the discussion of today’s topic, Jim reported on two of the many decisions being
announced today as the Supreme Court winds up its current session.

Two in particular were unanimous decisions with all nine justices agreeing:

–Barack Obama’s appointments of several positions in the National Labor Relations Board when the Senate was not in recess were unconstitutional, and the appointments are void

–State mandated buffer zones around abortion clinics are unconstituional

Peter mentioned that an Oct. 29 court date has been set in Canada for a case stemming from the arrest of Peter LaBarbera and Bill Whatcott. They were arrested for speaking out against homosexuality and abortion on a public university sidewalk, even as others nearby with opposite views were allowed to continue with their public statements there.

One year ago, on June 26, 2013, by a 5-4 margin, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in the United States v. Windsor case that ‘Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment’. This ruling started a flood of lawsuits and lower court rulings over the past year overturning laws, and even citizen approved state constitutional amendments, that affirmed marriage as being only between one man and one woman.

Here are a few recent examples:

In a ruling this week, the 10th U.S. Circuit Court in Denver says states must allow same-sex marriages, but put a hold on the ruling. In this ruling, one of the judges disagreed, marking the first time any federal judge has taken a stand against same-sex marriage.

Peter explained that the court’s argument that loving relationships must be affirmed could be used to promote other arrangements, including poylygamy with multiple wives, and polyamory, or multi-person ‘marriages’ with any number of men and/or women claiming they are all married.

The Obama administration increasingly supports the homosexual agenda, to the point that it has now become a ‘cheerleader’ for the ‘normalization’ of homosexual relationships and unions. Attorney General Eric Holder has called for the Boy Scouts to accept homosexual adult scout leaders. Vice President Biden has now announced that all government agencies have been directed to move to promote ‘gay rights’ in other countries. This year, U.S. Embassies for the first time flew the rainbow flag for homosexual rights along with the American Flag.

In addition, a bill has been introduce in Congress to encourage LGBT people in other countries who have a fear of persecution, to come to the United States for asylum. In contrast, requests for asylum by home school families in Germany whose children are being taken from them, and by Christians under death sentences in Muslim countries, are ignored.

This is done despite the increasing rates of HIV cases and deaths among homosexuals in this country.

The administration also is putting regulations in place that will add ‘diversity’ as a test for a
company to qualify for government contracts.

Meanwhile there has been an explosion of corporations that have announced acceptance and support of homosexual ‘rights’, including General Mills, which is using Betty Crocker to promote what is being called the ‘evolving family’, and then claiming that the move has been ‘good for the brand’.

Macy’s department stores are now sponsoring ‘gay pride’ activities and sales promotions, and have set up an on-line same-sex wedding registry.

The claim is that ‘diversity’ in the community is leading to ‘diversity’ being embraced by corporations does not extend to acceptance of those who have successfully left the homosexual lifestyle–in act it is claimed that there is no such thing as an ‘ex-gay’ person.

Major church denominations including the United Methodist Church, and the Presbyterian Church, USA, are also caving in to demands for homosexual clergy, and church-sanctioned same-sex ‘marriages’, including decisions made in the last few weeks at their national assemblies meetings.

Caller comments included a reminder that this kind of moral and social disintegration can be expected when a nation rejects God, and by extension, God has rejected a nation.
