Yesterday a federal judge in Texas granted a temporary injunction which brings to a halt President Obama’s executive action on amnesty.
Is Congress going to overturn the executive action through their spending bill?
Joining Jim to discuss this was William Gheen, the president and spokesman of ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration). Since 2004 he has been fighting against illegal immigration and any form of amnesty for illegal aliens.
President Obama took some executive actions in 2014 that he’s claimed he had the legal right to take as other presidents have done. According to William, no prior president has ever attempted to give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants through memos. These are not executive orders but instead they are memos or rules by dictate. This is illegal and violates a host of existing federal laws including laws that make it illegal to assist illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. unlawfully and laws against hiring them.
This is very unusual when you consider the fact that President Obama himself said at least 22 times that he didn’t have the authority to take the action that he executed.
William also noted that since most of the Department of Homeland Security employees are firearm trained, President Obama’s illegal actions mean these employees are being ordered to commit felonies while possessing a firearm.
He then described how, since 2009, the president has allegedly handed out ‘green cards’ and forms of citizenship to millions of individuals who are not authorized to become citizens under current law. That is a violation of the Constitution which clearly communicates that immigration or naturalization is the responsibility of Congress. Instead, President Obama has taken that power unto himself.
In conclusion, William believes that if President Obama’s plan succeeds, this plan (which also has a loophole to give illegals voting rights) would cause approximately 5-15 million illegal immigrants to begin to dominate over conservatives in U.S. elections. At that point, socialist/democrat candidates will win across America with their new voting block.
