Dr. Jerry Newcombe serves as the co-host, a columnist and a spokesperson for D. James Kennedy Ministries founded by the late Dr. D. James Kennedy. Jerry has produced or co-produced more than 60 one hour television specials which have aired nationwide. He is the author or co-author of 25 books including ‘George Washington’s Sacred Fire’ which he wrote with Dr. Peter Lillback and ‘What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?’ which he authored with Dr. Kennedy.

On April 28th the U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments regarding same-sex marriage. Some are calling this case the Roe v. Wade of marriage. Dr. Newcombe noted that it could be worse than that. While Roe v. Wade has caused the death of 57 million unborn babies, this upcoming decision could codify into law the loss of the specific kind of freedom that was the reason for the founding of our nation. That’s the freedom of religion.

God defines marriage, not man. Nonetheless, as secular forces continue to push ahead, there are questions that need to be answered by proponents of same-sex marriage. A few that were addressed on this edition of Crosstalk included:

–If the Supreme Court says it’s OK for a man to marry a man and a woman to marry a woman, how can they stop there?

–How do same-sex proponents deal with the fact that homosexuality is not an immutable quality?

–How can same-sex proponents prevent same-sex marriage from erasing religious liberty, especially when religious liberty is enshrined in our Constitution?
