Last Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued their 5-4 opinion stating that the 14th Amendment requires states to license same-sex marriages. In response, the White House was lit up that evening as it displayed the colors of the gay pride movement.

Mat Staver joined Jim to discuss this decision and its implications. Mat is the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, an international, non-profit litigation, education and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the family.

Mat commented on the following aspects of the Supreme Court’s decision:

–What is the 14th Amendment and what part of it has anything to do with so-called
same-sex marriage?
–Can states refuse to follow the Supreme Court’s decision?
–Is this an ‘obey God rather than men’ moment?
–Will this ruling cause attacks against religious freedom?
–Does this open the door to marrying more than one spouse?

Mat believes this was the opinion of 5 lawyers and not an opinion that has anything to do with the Constitution. They have thrown away millenia of human history and have brought judgment upon themselves and the nation if we accept what they’ve done.
